The first written mention of Hulín dates to 1224, when the Czech king Přemysl Otakar I issued documents there. The Church of St Wenceslas was built as a Romanesque structure around the first quarter of the 13th century and was rebuilt after a fire in 1747. A Baroque rectory stands east of the church. The town also has the 1749 Holy Trinity column and the Chapel of St Anne.
